If you’re an entrepreneur, you are constantly (or at least, frequently!) thinking of ways to market your business.

And content marketing is probably at or near the top of the list for your methods of increasing brand awareness of your business, and also positioning yourself as a thought leader and an expert in your niche.

Blog posts, articles, podcasts, videos–you name it, you’re either doing it or planning on doing it.

But what about the ultimate content? A book?

One of the best ways to demonstrate your chops in your chosen niche is to author a book that demonstrates to the world not only that you know what you’re doing, but you are the go-to expert in your field.

Having a book with your name on the cover establishes instant credibility for you and your business. It also gives you the opportunity to use your book to pump up interest in your business–not just instant credibility for you as the author, but also instant public relations for your business!

Plus, one thing that all businesses can use these days is a strong mailing list. If you have a book that you can provide to potential customers or clients as a lead magnet for your business, you can ask for that potential customer or client’s email address in return for a copy of your book.

Or, perhaps your book will be the next big thing, and you can have a whole new income stream from selling your book, either through traditional publishing, if that’s the course you want to take, or through the easy-peasy self-publishing route that Amazon has made available to writers everywhere.

All in all, if you’re in business and you haven’t thought of writing a book, perhaps you should start.
