Fiction Recommendations

I’ve recently read several really good works of fiction, both long and short. You may have already these, but if not and you’re looking for something good to read, try one of these out. And let me know, what you think.

  • The King of Lies, by John Hart [a novel about a lawyer who hates being a lawyer and who finds himself accused of his father's murder]
  • Knockemstiff, by Donald Ray Pollock [a collection of stories set in the small town of Knockemstiff, Ohio--this book is graphic and not for the easily rattled, but, wow, are these stories full of life and energy!]
  • 20th Century Ghosts, by Joe Hill [just started this one, but, man oh man, is the first story in the book amazing--and I'm probably the last person on earth not to know this, but Joe Hill is the son of Stephen King. And here I was thinking that this Joe Hill surely writes a mean horror story, kind of like the master, Stephen King.]

Anyway, hope your own writing is going well. I’m plugging away on a few projects. As always, read, read, read and write, write, write!
